Chain of Hope - Bras Across the Wabash
Good Samaritan Hospital and Lawrence County Memorial Hospital are collaborating to present Chain of Hope – Bras Across the Wabash taking place at Patrick Henry Square in Vincennes, Indiana on September 21, 2013. This event will feature a Breast Cancer Walk as well as a ceremonial hanging of bras across the Lincoln Memorial Bridge.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony, followed by the recognition of breast cancer survivors, hanging of the bras across the Wabash river from the Vincennes to the Illinois side of the Lincoln Memorial Bridge as well as a survivor walk across the bridge.
In addition to the above activities, there will be a mobile mammogram unit on the Illinois side of the bridge offering free mammograms to eligible women. Vendors will also be on site to offer health information as well as some who will sell various items. Clowns and face painting will also be present for this family friendly event.
New and gently used bra donations are being accepted at the Good Samaritan Hospital Breast Care Center to be hung across the bridge the day of the event and then donated to local women’s shelters, in addition to bra donations, if you are interested in getting a yard sign to help promote this event, please contact the Good Samaritan Breast Care Center at 812-885-3003.
